Imsa Students and Family

About Us

IMSA Students and Family (IMSA Students - in short) is a home for the Indonesian International Muslim Graduate Students pursuing their graduate degrees in the United States. The word “Family” reflects the inclusion of students’ spouses. IMSA Students aims to serve the religious and academic needs of the students to succeed in their academic, professional, and personal life while studying in the U.S.

In 2021, IMSA Students has two divisions: Academic and Islamic Development (AID) and Student Care and Family (SCF). AID focuses on external affairs (i.e., IMSA Students and other organizations), whereas SCF focuses on serving the internal affairs (students and their spouses).

Our Story

Prior to 2021 (from 2017 to 2020), IMSA Students was a unit under the Department of Outreach that serves students and outreach. During that time, IMSA Students was named IMSA Students Outreach (ISO). ISO was later reformed to an independent department under IMSA called 'IMSA Students and Family' to focus on serving students and their families. Starting January 2021 to date, IMSA Students is a new department and led by a Director.
